Naturopathy

Naturopathic Medicine is a therapeutic and preventive medicine that applies a holistic approach to care and integrates modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. Like MD’s, ND’s are general family practitioners trained to diagnose and treat acute and chronic illness, but ND training focuses on natural intervention. Naturopaths use a combination of extremely detailed health history, bloodwork and physical exam to determine causes of illness, and treat disorders with a combination of clinical nutrition, supplementation, IV therapeutics, acupuncture, botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine and lifestyle counseling. Naturopathy can be useful in treating conditions such as gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, infertility, skin disorders, hormonal imbalances, insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and fatigue.

TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a discipline of Traditional Oriental Medicine involving the insertion of solid filiform acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. It is highly effective in improving a variety of conditions, and can be used to encourage healing, improve energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Acupuncture can be applied in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, digestive concerns, headaches, insomnia, infertility and many others.

PROLOTHERAPY
Prolotherapy is also known as non-surgical ligament reconstruction, effective in the treatment and repair of lax or torn ligaments and tendons in the shoulders, knees, ankles, elbows and wrists. The treatment involves the injection of a dextrose solution into the affected ligament, tendon or joint. The injection stimulates an inflammatory response and deposition of new collagen, which promotes repair of the injured ligament. Prolotherapy is effective in the treatment of chronic pain management and some acute injuries.

IV THERAPEUTICS
IV therapy involves intravenously administering a solution of vitamins and minerals to promote optimal health and disease prevention. The higher doses and immediate biological availability of vitamins and minerals in the solution ensure benefit to the body at the cellular level. IV therapeutics are useful in immune boosting, competitive exercise preparation and recovery, health maintenance and as an adjunct to treating low energy and fatigue.
