Now that you’re back in the studio, what are you excited to perform in 2013-2014?
Our 2013-2014 season is jam packed, so I have a lot to look forward to this year. The two show that I’m looking forward to the most are Giselle and the new Joni Mitchell ballet. Giselle because it is such a rich and powerful story of love and loss, and the choreography is challenging as well. I love all of Jean’s contemporary works, but it’s so great that we get to do such classical ballets as well. These kinds of ballets last for generations.
rvh is excited to provide treatment for Alberta Ballet through the 2013-2014 season, while they are here in Edmonton. Deanne Underwood, one of our massage therapy providers, is particularly looking forward to it. Deanne has a background in professional dance, and plenty of empathy for the rigours of ballet. This is Alexandra’s fourth year with the Alberta Ballet and has previously danced professionally with the Washington Ballet. She is originally from Romania, and received her training from the Quinte Ballet School in Belleville, and from the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
